To be honest, I actually forgot about the doomsday prophecy regarding the Mayans and 21 December. I just got home from work on friday when my neighbor's boy came charging into our house. "Did you know the world is ending in a few days" he said trying to hide his fear. "No really, some old people predicted it and they said the planets are all lining up and the sun will explode". I assured him that the sun won't do any exploding in our lifetimes and told him the whole Y2K story.
