Dog Driving a Mini...Unbelievable...!

This being Meh-Tuesday and all, I thought it would be appropriate to post a video of a dog driving a car.  It only took them six months to train the dog, who was labelled by his owners as uncontrollable.  There is a motive behind this "training".  They want to tell the public that SPCA dogs are intelligent and deserve a good home, so just go ahead and adopt one...

If a dog can drive, what is stopping us from behaving on the roads?

This is their training car, before they go on to the real deal.

Branson not leaving Virgin Atlantic

Rumors have been circulating that the famous bearded englishman; Sir Richard Branson is giving up Virgin Atlantic.  Apparently the head of British Airways, Mr. Willie Walsh started the rumors and now Branson says he is willing to pay One Million Pounds to BA's staff if Virgin Atlantic disappears within 5 years.  If not, BA owes his staff the money.

Richard had this to say:
"Virgin Atlantic was my baby 28 years ago.  When we set up with just one plane.  Like all children they never really stop being your babies and Virgin Atlantic is still much cherished.  It has grown into a wonderful airline which has punched above it's weight for almost three decades, giving much larger airlines a run for their money.

We intend to carry on doing so for many years to come and, contrary to BA's hopes we have no plans to disappear.  But since they are so confident, will BA accept our challenge?"

Well we have got to wait and see...

Guys, say hello to Michelle Jenneke

Okey I know it's Monday afternoon and we all have deadlines, but pause for one second and take some time to meet the dancing hurdler aka Michelle Jenneke.  Apparently she performed this sexy number at a junior athletics event.  Don't worry she's 19 so nothing too junior about her.  Just watch the girls in the back.  They seem very jealous.

Ps.  Always smile when there's a video camera around.  You never know when it will be a youtube sensation.

You wanted Jersey Shore gone...Say hello to Honey Boo Boo

I finally thought America released their grip on bad reality tv.  Don't get to excited.  I saw a South Park episode last week about Cartman getting a motorized scooter and a fat girl who became a reality star.  As with all South Park episodes the guys had some hidden message.  James Cameron took his submarine and tried to find the bar so he could raise it after seeing an episode of this sh*t:

This is what is wrong with the world.  People raising their children to think it's right to abuse your body like that.

The Mayan Calendar: What you need to know...

To be honest, I actually forgot about the doomsday prophecy regarding the Mayans and 21 December.  I just got home from work on friday when my neighbor's boy came charging into our house.  "Did you know the world is ending in a few days"  he said trying to hide his fear.  "No really, some old people predicted it and they said the planets are all lining up and the sun will explode".  I assured him that the sun won't do any exploding in our lifetimes and told him the whole Y2K story.  For everyone trying to get your facts straight, Discovery's website has got some interesting material.  Here's the link:

Visual Weekend...What you Missed

So much news this weekend...
We kick off(Pun Intended) with some soccer news.  Manchester United won the fiercely competed derby against Manchester City on Sunday.  This amazing feat was achieved by a last minute free kick taken by Van Persie.  It is the first time Man City was beaten at the Etihad since 20 December 2010.  What would a derby by without some off the field antics?  Rio Ferdinand suffered an eye cut, apparently from an object thrown during celebrations after RVP's goal.  Maybe it originated from a grassy gnoll.  Who knows?  O, and a fan stormed onto the field and had to be restrained by City's goalkeeper Joe Hart.

The Soweto Derby ended all square as Lehlenolo Majora's second half goal cancelled out Colling Mbesuma's first half strike at Soccer City on Saturday afternoon.

Golf
Charl Schwartzel won the Thailand Golf Championship, and a whopping US$1 Million  by beating Bubba Watson and some asian dude.  Well Done!

Boxing
Sunday morning I got up at 4 am to watch the much anticipated fight between Manny (Pacman) Pacquiao and Juan Marquez.  The battle took place in front of a huge crowd of 16000 people, the likes of which included Mitt Romney and 50 Cent.  Pacquiao was knocked out in the 6th round with one second left before the bell rang.  The Pacman was ahead with one point on the scorecard before he walked into Marquez's fist.  Bam!

Madiba
Last week we received news that our favorite statesman is in Hospital for some routine tests.  Although he is still in Hospital, the government reassured us that he is in good shape and even the President took some time off to visit him in hospital on Sunday.

Sand Artist Sudarsan Pottnaik created a sand sculpture of Madiba at Puri Beach on Sunday

It's that time of the week (end)

The moment we have all been waiting for has arrived.  Every week we go about our usual tasks driven by one thought and one thought only:  It's friday in a few days and then I can go wild...This weekend, do the stuff you actually want to and not what other people tells you to do.  The weekend is the only time you have not slaving about or grinding away in traffic, so enjoy it.  As for alcohol intake...keep it responsible, but don't be afraid to go mad...  I'm leaving you with this:

Have a nice one...

Ps.  It's December so don't be afraid to go that extra mile...who knows, you might get lucky...
